What’s Been Happening Inside the Beyond Form Fashion Tech Venture Studio the Last Few Years?

Hello fashion tech enthusiasts!

It's been a long time since the last time we posted anything on a blog post. We decided to place Beyond Form’s written content on hold when the Covid-19 pandemic hit to focus on looking after our portfolio of startups. Thankfully those days have gone and past and so much has happened in the time since. We’ve launched a podcast, our CEO has authored a book, and many more ambitious fashion tech founders have joined us in the venture studio.

We’re picking up the Beyond Form Insights blog again as our followers have given us such a positive response to the other content we’ve been rolling out. You can expect more to come in the year, but for now we wanted to recap why our fashion tech venture studio exists.

Our Mission: Build Fashion Tech to Disrupt the Fashion Industry

Beyond Form's mission has stayed the same from 1: pioneer fashion tech around the world. Over the last four years, our venture studio has already supported more than 70 startups and our current portfolio valuation has reached approximately $50 million cumulatively as of May 2024. Together with our founders, we’re building and supporting the creation of innovative solutions that have great potential in fashion.

Exciting solutions include such as FINDS, a Parisian tackling fashion’s overproduction with an AI-powered management tool helping brands to find the right channel for their surplus stock. Artificial intelligence is a noticeable theme in fashion tech lately and other portfolio companies include T-Fashion, Shoefitr, and Glam You Up that are exploring personalisation, recommendations and generative AI.

Our portfolio is growing and successes include working with fashion brands and retailers such as Pangaia, ASOS, Zalando and more. It’s amazing to see how far they’ve come. Check out all our startups in our portfolio section here.

Beyond Form is Going Global and Spreading the Fashion Tech Word

It’s not only our startups that have been making headway in the industry, Beyond Form as a venture studio has been working hard to make the subject of fashion tech more understandable, accessible, and generally the agenda of why technology is needed in the fashion industry. We launched our podcast show, Venturing into Fashion Tech, in 2022 to great reception which now reaches every continent in the world (apart from Antarctica), more than 80 global cities, and has more than 10,000 listeners. Listen to the podcast here.

2024 also saw the year start with a bang with our CEO, Peter Jeun Ho Tsang, releasing his co-authored book, Fashion Tech Applied, 6 chapters that uncovers how technology is transforming the fashion industry. The launch saw a book tour with events in Paris, London, and online bringing fashion enthusiasts together. The book was also accompanied by a special podcast series that brought together the voices of the fashion industry professionals  and fashion tech enthusiasts featured in the book. Check out details of the book here and grab your copy today!

Those are just two recent projects launching and over the last few years we’ve worked with other organizations like IBM and its Paris startup studio, Microsoft and its global hackathon, Circular Fashion Summit where we gave an Innovation Award to the brilliant materials innovation company AltMat, and many more. With all this activity, of course Beyond Form's growth can only happen with a team of passionate experts dedicated to advancing fashion technology innovation. In the next few insights posts we’ll be getting to know more about the team behind Beyond Form.

Beyond Form and the Future

What a whirlwind it’s been since launching and we’ve liked to thank everyone that’s supported us so far, as well as the fashion tech entrepreneurs that are inspiring us everyday. There’ll be lots more happening this year including: Avantex Paris trade show July 1- 3 2024 where five of Beyond Form’s portfolio startups will be showcasing their fashion tech solutions and our CEO will also be giving a talk on fashion tech’s impact on the industry. New announcements will be made soon of new startups that have joined the portfolio.

As always we’re looking for the fashion tech founders, fashion brands and universities that want to take fashion tech to the next level. Entrepreneurs wanting to join the venture studio can submit their application online now.
